Medications for Symptoms of Swine Influenza
If the individual suffering from symptoms of pig flu can take an antiviral drug within the first 48 hours of catching the virus there is a strong likelihood the virus will be reduced in duration. These medications include Tamiflu, and oseltamivir and Relenza a zanamivir. Two other medications, amantadine and rimantandine were shown to work well when used during the outbreak of 2009. To control fever and reduce muscle pain, aspirin, acetominiphen and ibuprofen are recommended.
